UN Women Liberia Launches Inclusive Civil Society Advisory Group to Champion Gender Equality

Today marks a significant milestone in our ongoing journey toward gender equality and women’s empowerment in Liberia. We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of our renewed Civil Society Advisory Group (CSAG)—a dynamic team of twelve outstanding new members who will provide strategic guidance to UN Women Liberia’s programming and advocacy efforts.

The launch event was held in the presence of esteemed guests, including Hon. Gbeme Horace-Kollie from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, and Ms. Comfort Lamptey, UN Women Liberia’s Country Representative.

“What makes this CSAG particularly strong is its diversity,” Ms. Lamptey shared during the ceremony. “We’ve intentionally included youth representatives and male allies who are champions for gender equality. This inclusive approach ensures we remain truly accountable to all women and girls in Liberia—leaving no one behind in our journey toward gender equality.”

The newly appointed CSAG members bring with them a wealth of experience and perspectives—from grassroots advocacy and youth leadership to community organizing and male allyship. Their contributions will help deepen civil society engagement and strengthen collaboration across sectors to accelerate progress on women’s rights in Liberia.

At UN Women Liberia, we believe that meaningful change requires collective effort. With the guidance and partnership of the Civil Society Advisory Group, we are confident in our shared ability to build a more equitable and inclusive future for all.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the new CSAG members and look forward to working alongside these incredible champions of change!
