Away from Home: Our Executive Director Represents APJHR at CSW69

Away from home, but never away from purpose. Our Executive Director, Madam Abigail B.L. Freeman, is currently representing the Alliance for Peace, Justice and Human Rights (APJHR) and the people of Liberia at the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) in New York.

As a women-led organization, APJHR sees CSW69 as a powerful platform to engage global peers, forge meaningful partnerships, and elevate conversations around women’s rights, equality, and justice. Madam Freeman is actively participating in dialogues that reflect our shared challenges and opportunities—from legal empowerment and leadership inclusion to climate resilience and gender equity.

“CSW69 is not just a conference—it’s a movement. It’s an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and create momentum for real change,” says Madam Freeman.

Throughout the past week, she has met with inspiring activists, advocates, and allies committed to advancing gender justice. These interactions have sparked new ideas, potential partnerships, and renewed energy to carry forward our work in Liberia and beyond.

As we move into a new week, we are full of hope and anticipation. We look forward to sharing more stories, building stronger networks, and continuing to raise our voices for those who are often unheard.
